Default Calling sharepoint web service

Please Login to Remove!

Has anyone here had any luck calling a SOAP sharepoint web service? I have the WSDL and tried to generate the stubs via wscompile, but it keeps erroring out saying "invalid element "{http_://_schemas_.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/}definitions"

Any thoughts? Or suggestions on how to call a sharepoint web service?

Thanks!

Default Wsdl

I've never used wscompile to generate a stub file for accessing webservices. But we do design a product which works to make blackberries and SharePoint interact together (http_://silverdust.softartisans.com/) and we've had luck with tools such as wsdl.exe, which can generate code from a WSDL file (and for a number of languages). Or, if you have access to VS, the built in 'add web references' feature generates some useful code.
These solutions may not work on the platform you're using, but as long as you don't expect the web services to change often (which they don't for SharePoint), you should be able to generate a file once from any platform, fix it up, and then add it to your project.

I hope that helps,
