Default auto-start issue with 8110

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

We have auto-start application which works in background all the time. It works fine for all the devices (with various OS versions) installed so far. But 8110 gives issues when we install the application via OTA pull/push. The application doesn't auto-start after the installation, rather needs a reboot to take effect. The device log doesn't signify any exceptions.

Point to be noted:
a. Starting application log message (added through main function before entering eventDispatcher loop) are expected, but not found in the device log.
b. It doesn't ask for permissions either (as it hasn't started).
c. device log observed (app name: myBoxToneExpert):

This looks like normal behavior to me.

Have you reviewed this article?

Thanks for taking a look.
Let me reframe the problem:
1. The application is a background listener implemented as a system module, also set for auto-start by using RIM-MIDLET-FLAG value 3.
2. The application is installed on a clean device through OTA push/pull.
3. There is no reboot prompt, and the application also doesn't start.
4. The user needs to check the debug log to find that the application has not started and so a reboot has to be done (as its a system module and there is no icon to instantiate the application).

Appreciate further help/clues!

And you have the "auto-start" attribute set?
