Hello everyone,
i think this is silly question. but i need to find it it out and stucked. Can somebody tell me that how to turn on/off the Data service of the edge and 3G without disconnecting the 3G network connections. All suggestions will be appreciated.

Sorry in the previous thread i forgot to mention that i have to turn on/off the data service using blackberry apis.
Can somebody tell me that how to turn on/off the Data service of the edge and 3G without disconnecting the 3G network connections using blackberry apis. All suggestions will be appreciated.

I've never had a requirement to do so.

Have you done any research, like reading the API docs?

Look at the Radio and RadioInfo classes - these allow you to turn off a specific communications band. I'm not sure that gives you what you want, since it would also disable voice communications.

1.yes i have gone through the apis. But i didn,i find any appropriate api to turn off data service. Only one class that i found is service class and that is abstract class and there is method setconnected and i doesn't know how to implement it. Is it the right way or do u know any other api to turn off data service.

2. In the radioinfo class which method is responsible to turn off the data service.


3. i have turn off the data service on simulator by Options -> Mobile Network -> Data Service -> off and after that i am using the api RadioInfo.isDataServiceOperational() but it is returning true even though data service is off.


Can u plz repond to all these questions? i m eagerly waiting of ur reply.
