Default Opening Google Maps from URL

Is there a way to present a link to a KML file such that it will automatically open Google Maps (GMM) or Blackberry Apps? I thought I could just link to the KML but that doesn't seem to work.

On the iPhone you can just use the maps: URL syntax.

Default

I got it to open BB Maps on one phone I had access to, but on my phone with Google Maps it's not working.

If you have a chance go to this URL:
http://sites.google.com/site/gunygoogoo/foodtv.kml

And let me know if Google Maps or BB Maps (or neither) open up.
