I need to develop an applcation which will run at the backend. When the user presses an assigned convenience key for more that 5 secs or so, the device should be formatted (including SD card) and reset to factory settings. is this possible to achieve. If yes how?

I am curious. Why do you think there is a need for such an app? BBs seldom needs to reload the OS and don't need to be reformatted as a WM device seems to require periodically.
