Default Threading and event notification

Hi
I am a newbie in blackberry java implementation(JDE 5.0).

I want to know how can we have two threads running simultaneously and one thread intimating the other thread to stop or wait.

In .Net we have event notification.Similarly how can it be implemneted in blackberry java .Please provide some refernces or sample code for implementing the same

Waiting for suggestions

If the two threads retain a reference to each other, then thread 'A' can call

Thread.interrupt()

...on thread 'B'
