Default map application

Please Login to Remove!

Hello developers,

I'm trying to develop an application that shows the gas stations in Skopje, Macedonia, and calculates the nearest gas station from your GPS location. I've tried the MapField Demo, but the maximum zoom for Skopje is inadequate, it shows only the magistral roads, not the full map as in Google Maps, for example.

Is there any chance I can use Google Map, or any other..?

I used the MapDemo, which I don't understand very much. Can you tell me how to incorporate it in that code?

What does 'l' stands for in the code you posted?

MapDemo uses Blackberry MapField. This is completely different. Google Maps is a separate application that you can invoke as demonstrated in the example above.

I didn't post that code, but the 'l' is a Coordinates object that hold the lat and lon values - you should have this from your location search or GPS coordinates.

You might also look into using the HTTP version of Google Maps, which returns a static map display for a given location or group of locations. See the google site for info on the API.

static map, you mean, like photo? no mate, I need to ebmed the map, scroll and zoom it, can I do that?

Also the map needs to be edited, I want to add small icons to the locations of the gas stations, and I want to develop the interface (buttons and stuff)

You can't do any of this with the google mobile application. You'll need to go to the google site and look into the maps HTTP API there.
