Unhappy Developing games from java, need soft keys

Please Login to Remove!

hello. So, I compile games from existing JAR to COD and ALX, and most games require to use left and right soft keys, that are on standard phones located above call and end buttons. I want to edit them so that they were working and would be located, let's say (Blackberry Pearl 8130), on ! and . (UNDER call and end buttons... since there are no buttons above those two). So, how do I do it and is it possible at all? Also, can I edit it in Notepad or I need some specific program? Also, how do I properly change the resolution? It seems to me that after changing it in Properties, it doesn't work.

You can listen for any key on the keypad - what exactly is your question?

...edit *what* in Notepad?? Can you be specific?

Change the resolution of what? The BB display? You cannot.

Have you downloaded any tools yet? Read the docs? Looked at the samples?

OK, let's start from the beginning.
I downloaded the JDE for Blackberry,
read the (very basic) manual on how to convert .JAR to .COD,
Converted that .JAR to .COD,
Now it's working, but I can't push the button to turn the sound on or off. I'm just stuck here
That's why I want those soft keys to be on places of ! and . that are right under call and end buttons on my Pearl.

Then you will have to modify your source to look for these other key stems, then recompile.

That's why I'm asking, can I do that and if yes, how?

Do you have the source code for these games? Did you write them?

I don't understand why you are asking us how to modify *your* code - we've never seen it, and don't know how it was done.

I guess the simple answer is to find the part of the code that handles the key events and change it.

It is not my code. It's JAR file I want to modify. If possible.

You can't modify the game without the source code.
