Question app looks totally different per device

Please Login to Remove!

I wrote an app which has a few simple fields. The layout is something like below:

--------HFM----------
--VFM----------VFM
HFM HFM

The bottom hfm contain the field so tha tyou have two rows of fields next to each other. Now on a BB storm2 they look perfectly in portrait mode (360 wide if I'm correct). On the BB Bold (9700) it looks like crap. The text in the left side fields does not fit one line all of a sudden while the screen is wider (480)?? In the code I have even set the width of the fields to be 140 in size. Can someone explain me how it is possible that on a BB9700 140 is less wide as it is on a storm. Or am I overseeing something here?
