Default Debugging JAD Files

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I am having an issue where i am unable to debug an application.

The application was not created by me and comes as a JAD file. I am trying to use Eclipse Blackberry plug-in to diagnose a memory leak on the JAD file.

When adding the JAD file it shows as this

""Manifest-Version: 1.0
RIM-COD-Module-Name: Cleric1_test
RIM-COD-Module-Dependencies: net_rim_cldc
MIDlet-Jar-Size: 5817
MIDlet-1: ,,
RIM-COD-Creation-Time: 1297173626
MIDlet-Jar-URL: Cleric.jar
RIM-COD-URL: Cleric1_test.cod
RIM-COD-SHA1: fd 90 be 05 97 a5 c2 74 3f 0b b5 f5 3e 70 fe 68 45 5d 5f 00
RIM-COD-Size: 3352
MicroEdition-Configuration: CLDC-1.1
MIDlet-Version: 0.0.1
MIDlet-Name: Cleric1 test
MIDlet-Vendor: Vendor
MicroEdition-Profile: MIDP-2.0
RIM-MIDlet-Flags-1: 0""

I am trying to test the app to see if it has a memory leak so from what i read i need to set a break point in the code but the code is not showing it just shows the above so i am unable to test this.

Not sure what a JAD file is and what i need to do to debug the java software.

Any help would be great.

Thanks in Advance!

Default Re: Debugging JAD Files

An application does not "come as a JAD file" - the executable code is stored in one or more .COD files.

The JAD is a manifest used by the OTA loader to determine which COD files to load, and other pertinent info.

Anyway, you cannot do much debugging without the .java files that generated the COD files anyway.
