Hi,

I am looking to create a private application that can run on a blackberry, and pull files off the device and send them back to their businesses server/ BES. The problem I have is the connection to that the application will need to be secure.

How should I implement such a connection, for instance if a user is 500 miles away, how would they connect to the server to exchange files, through BB data plan?


What connection type would be the best? HTTPS for example? Any help would be appreciated,

As long as you connect to your server via the BES connection all communications will be encrypted from the device to the BES. In order to connect to the BES the devices will have to be provisioned with a Blackberry Data Plan specifically for BES connnections.

Have a look at this video or this video. The BES connection is called BlackBerry MDS or BlackBerry Mobile Data Service.
