Default how to display virtual keypad

I know how to bring up the virtual keyboard no problem but I can't figure out how to make it display the keypad instead of the qwerty keyboard.

Can anyone help?

I know there is a class called Keypad which has a field to set type of keyboard. However I don't know how to implement it. I'm calling up the virtual keyboard from within a custom field which extends field.

Got it working! I changed my custom field to extend basiceditfield instead of just field. Then I can do a setfilter on the instance and set it to numeric. Then the virtual keyboard brings up the keypad automatically.

Not sure if I'm supposed to create a new post but the solution above created a new issue and can't seem to resolve. Now when an instance of my custom field gets focus I can't focus away from it. If I change the extends to field its fine. And then when I change it back to BasicEditField it reverts to this behaviour.

Oh brother. Fix one thing and another thing pops up.

To have numeric keyboard , you can use following

EditField usernameField = new EditField("UserName" , "", 12 ,EditField.NO_NEWLINE | EditField.FILTER_NUMERIC );

FILTER_NUMERIC will give u numeric keypad
