Can you release Blackberry apps directly to the customer (like Android) or must it go through an app store (like Apple)?

For the handheld devices you can release them directly to the customer, either on a web site (JAD and COD files), or by delivering the ALX and COD files for desktop installation.

So, it is possible to release an app of any type without any 3rd party vetting. Eg. gambling, pornography etc?
