Default fledge_umphost.exe has encounted a problem

I am trying to test a Java ME applet using the Blackberry 7 emulator. Unfortunately, I am receiving the error: fledge_umphost.exe has encountered an error and needs to close. I tried downloading another applet from the internet and it still crashes. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Also, to open a Java Midlet, should I be opening the jar or the jad?

No. BlackBerry uses .cod files for its application packages.
