Exclamation Class not found?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello! I hate to restate a previous thread but I can't find an answer to this question and it is driving me crazy and preventing me from development.
Reference: Error starting com_rim_xmldemo: Class 'org.w3c.dom.Document' not found.

I am having a big problem. I am writing an application for our company for the blackberry (mainly 7100T) and no matter where I look I cannot find the class org.w3c.dom.Document and I cannot get any applications that use it to run. Every time I run the application it says, "Error starting _APPLICATIONNAME_: Class 'org.w3c.dom.Document' not found.".

I am guessing that there is just a missing cod but I cannot find it and it doesn't seem to be installed by default. Does anyone know where I could get this cod or how I could get this to go away? Thank you so much. Any help would be better than where I am now!

Default

That is an addon package that doesn't get loaded onto the device with the default options. You will need to get a version of the BlackBerry OS (usually directly from blackberry.com or the carrier).

When you reload the OS there is a option to load that package - I forget the name.

Another thing you may want to investigate is to list that package (when you figure out the name) in the ALX file as a dependancy.

Default "Class org.w3c.dom.Element" not found error

Hello,

Did you get answer for your problem? If you did, do you mind share it?

Thanks

__________________________________________________ ____________
I am developing some BlackBerry applications using RIM JDE version
4.1.0.170. In my applications, I used the org.w3c.dom XML APIs. But after
I installed the application to the BlackBerry handset, when activated, I
got the "Class org.w3c.dom.Element" not found error. On the handset, I
updated to version 4.0.2.49, which is the latest version of the software
available from Rogers, and it does contains the XML module version
4.0.2.49, but I still got the same error.

Any idea on why it happens and how to solve it?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Default One option

I also had that same exception and it turned out to be the JDE version I was building my application with. I'm currently developing for the 7290 running OS v4.0.x and when would I build/deploy my application using JDE 4.1 I would see this error message on the handheld - in the emulator it runs fine.

Basically what I learned is that you need to use the JDE version that corresponds to your Handheld's OS version. So a 4.0.x handheld OS needs to be compiled with the JDE 4.0.2 (as in my case.)

While it doesn't seem to apply to development, ie. you can use the JDE 4.1 to edit the same project and vice versa, it does apply when you build the application.

Hope this helps,
~Chris
