Default Desktop Manager does not see Add-in - 03-29-2006, 03:34 PM

I have built a custom add-in for the desktop manager. I followed the directions from this article: http://www.blackberry.com/developers/journal/july _2005/vb_desktop_addin_pt_1.shtml

After registering my activeX dll and adding the Rim Add-in key under Implemented Categories ("{DFCE97AB-25ED-4335-BB00-FE5863F41DED is the class ID for IRimInterface"), the BDM should recognize the add-in. However, it still displays "No add-ins are installed on this computer."

Any ideas of what I could be missing? Does anyone know of any other add-ins I could install to see what the differences are?

Okay, nevermind, I figured it out myself. I had a typo in the XML in my GetExtensionInfo method.

However, now it reports that there are no tables on the device, and only one in the simulator (contacts). Furthermore, the contacts table that I can modify in the simulator does not actually show the address book contacts, nor do my changes show up in the simulator (although, when I re-check the table, the changes are there). Anyone have any ideas?

I guess my first question is, are there any developers here at all who are familiar with the DesktopAPI? The available resourses are bleak at best.
