Default Blackberry Handheld Simulator Question

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all! I've a question about the BlackBerry Handheld Simulator.

The default handheld id for the simulator is 2100000a, but when I used the net.rim.system api's getDeviceId() method, it returns 553643138. I tested the id by trying to push some info to a device with this id, but the MDS simulator says that it "could not map device 553643138 to a IPPP host".

My question is, does this problem only happens with the simulator or it also happens with real handhelds?

2100000a base 16 == 553643138 base 10. You need to use the hexadecimal version.
