Display access in BB

I need to be able to write a small method which can either access the video memory buffer so that current display can be stored in my application or take a screenshot of what is currently displayed. Anybody know how I can do this?

I've only ever heard that a 3rd party app cannot access the screen buffer - and my programming experience with the Graphics class and such would agree with this.
