Exclamation 8800 Programming?

Please Login to Remove!

Any one has it yet, as far as I know there are no third party apps for 8800 yet, but the customers seem not to agree with the fact. Is there any third party apps for 8800 yet?

Even the new Google Mail is not targeted for 8800 - is this rite?

Why is RIM very silent on it?, myself being a Palm developer - Palm would release its API+Simulators atleast a week before its releases (Atleast for Treo 700p and Treo 680 we got it that way)

Latest news that I learnt from a representative of RIM is that for 8800 development it requires a new JDE 4.2.1 for development - has anyone have access to it and would like to share it with others?

Just pour your thoughts and correct me if I am wrong somewhere (8800 apps part).

it seems they've only released the tools to companies with a very close relationship to rim - normal 3rd party developers haven't been given access to it yet, it's causing quite a bit of resentment:

The BB JDE 4.2.1 deelopment kit has been available for months to BB Alliance partners. Most 3rd party products (like PocketDay) work unchanged on the BB 8800.

I have the GMAIL app on my 8800 and it works fine. It was installed automatically when I used the BB switch device wizard on the desktop mananger.

this is the frustration - it's not available to normal developers and the rim staff at blackberry.com are ignoring the thread.
