Default Invalid Cod file error

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,
I have deployed cod file in my server for BB Pearl. When I try to download .cod file OTA it says invalid cod file. I have extracted the parent .cod file & placed the child .cod files (around 8 child cod files) in the server, but still getting the error!! Once i extract the parent cod file, is that cod file needed, as i am overwriting the parent cod file with the sibling cod file!!!!!!
Please help me out guys!!!!!!!!

No, parent cod file is not needed.
What error number is shown by device? There can be a lot of problems there:
Do you set correct mime types for .jad and .cod files on server? Do you set correct file size in jad file for extracted cod files?

You need to set the size for every child cod file, and reference each one too. Eg RIM-COD-URL-[1..n]: RIM-COD-Size-[1..n]: etc

Hi bdowling,
I have compiled my app in JDE 4.1 & it has created a jad file which has all these information. Do I need to manually set the attributes in the jad?

Thumbs up

you have to add the mime types below to your web server. the procedure for this varies depending on the web server you use.

.cod files: application/vnd.rim.cod
.jad files: text/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor

regards,

marcelo
