We developed a blackberry application using JDE and it works fine on the device we have. But we sent the .COD file to the customer for initial testing, the feedback was that the application didn't run because it required a signature.
Our customer uses a different version of blackberry, plus the fact that his device is associated with a blackberry server. I think the problem arises from the association with a server, and if so, is there a method to disable the requirment of a signature?

Does it run OK on the simulator or an actual blackberry device you have? The simulator doesn't require anything to be signed, whereas the devices do.

Your best bet is just to sign the application anyway. The keys are a one off cost of $100. You can then develop as many signed applications as you wish!
