Default BB hangs and OS gets corrupted

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I am using application loader and loading an application which I made on BB's JDE.

When I do so, the system crashes and I have to reinstall the OS.

Any Ideas?

I have not written any malicious code. Its simple HELLOWORLD application that I tried to deploy on BB 8700.

Regards,
Hussain

I have re-written the application, I already have the source, so compiled it with JDE 4.2.1.

Don't know about the component package.. what does it do?

You have to use JDE 4.1 w/8700. JDE 4.2.1 apps only work with 8800 & 8100. FYI-The component package allows using other JDE's beside RIM's JDE.

Ok here's the problem that I think might be the cause.

I am having OS version 4.1.0.377

And my JDE is 4.2.x

Can anyone tell me what settings do I make so that I can compile applications for the OS I have?

There are no settings.....You have to use JDE 4.1. I have both installed on same machine. I believe you have to use JDK 5 with 4.1. JDE 4.2.1 says it supports JDK 6, but I've had problems with the code signing app not working with JDK 6...

Hi Hussulinux,

Like Knezek, I too believe you are using the wrong JDE and using the appropriate JDE (= 4.1 or earlier) will solve your problem.
Here's a short article that explains it: Livelink - Redirection
