Default 7290 dead after javaloader -usb wipe - 05-02-2007, 06:44 AM

Hi Everybody,

My BB died after i executed javaloader -usb wipe command.

I was trying to wipe the device and then install the latest handheld software. But now after wiping, when i connect to my desktop using desktop manager, my device is not being connected. My device screen shows "501" message. Wat does this mean? and how do i get my device working.

Any idea?

I am guessing that it shows a "507" which means no operating system found. That is normal after a Javaloader -usb wipe

You must download and install the new OS:

- Close Desktop Manager
- Download the handheld OS for your device to your PC
- Execute the program you just downloaded
- Locate and delete VENDOR.XML from your PC C: drive
- Restart Desktop Manager; the OS should install to the BB

Good luck!

Hi,

I could not find VENDOR.XML file. Where is it actually located. My DM is installed in C:\program Files\Research In Motion\Blackberry folder

Lunkhead,

The connect settings says my device is connected. When i open the Application Loader, there are no applications listed.

NJBlackBerry,

I found the vendor.xml file and your solution worked fine. Thanks a lot.
