Default App Request

If anyone is good at making these apps, I have an idea for one......

On the 8800/8830, the volume +/- buttons on the side don't get that much use for me personally, and probably not for many others as well.......Would anyone be able to make a little app that would make these two buttons act like the scroll that was on the bb's of yesteryear?

that would be awesome, and I'd absolutely be willing to compen$ate for your work!

thanks in advance!

No can do. The RIM API does not expose or allow control of the volume keys AFAIK.

yes it does - use keyControl instead of keyChar with the Character mapping: Characters.CONTROL_VOLUME_UP and Characters.CONTROL_VOLUME_DOWN

Regarding the users request, it'd be a ballache of a task if it's possible at all, without giving it too much thought you'd have to hook into all the native applications and add event injectors to scroll using the keys.

Might be a nice feature to add to any 3rd party apps though (if they don't use audio).

Nice idea, I second that!
