No the MDS Runtime applications (Created by VSPlugin, MDS Studio) do not provide access to the GPS information. Saw that on a post over on the BlackBerry website forum.

You can however bring up the blackberry maps application by using a system call to the browser with a properly formatted URL.

If the device supports maps it will bring up the blackberry maps:

Code:
System.loadURL("http://maps.blackberry.com/?lat=45.42891&lon=-75.61467&z=0");
