Hi crazystar,

The BlackBerry device supports audio recording using two different formats, Adaptive Multi-Rate (AMR) and 8khz mono-16-bit Pulse Code Modulation (PCM). The default encoding used by the BlackBerry device is AMR. The encoding to be used is specified in the String passed to the "Manager.createPlayer(String locator)" method.

The following table shows a list of support locator strings.

String Resulting | Format
----------------------------------
capture://audio | AMR
capture://audio/amr | AMR
capture://audio/pcm | PCM

Enjoy,
ARIF

Hi,
This can be easily found by specifying the capture protocol for getting supported content types
getSupportedContentTypes("capture");

This will return all the capture audio formats and video formats if supported.
