Hi,
I am completly new to the world of blackberrys, but I do have some Java MIDP programming experience on my sony ericsson. I have an idea that I am trying to figure out if is possible or not on my blackberry 7100T (OS v 4.0)
After downloading some ringtones, like the ADP Star Trek communicator sound, I immediately wanted the ability to simply unholster the bb and have that sound play as if I were whipping out a real star trek communicator.
I guess it would be a java midlet running in the background, and whenever the bb was pulled from the holster it would recieve some kind of event and play the sound file.
Question is, does such an unholster event exist in the bb API? I understand that there is two APIs for the bb, a public one and a controlled one.. sounds like the event I want may be in the controlled API?
I searched blackberry.com but I didn't come up with anything.. so if anyone has an idea if such a thing exists, I would appreciate a tip in the right direction.
Thanks for reading
