Anyone out there know how to use the mic on the system.
I'm attempting to make a guitar tuner. Thanks in no small part to some guidance here earlier, I got a metronome working.

Now for those who don't know a tuner has two aspects.
1 it outputs a note. This is so you can get the guitar into close proximity.
2. it listens to the note the guitar plays and displays something telling the user if it's too high or too low.

Now I got step 1. What I don't know how to do is step 2.
Anyone out there ever make an app that can "hear" via a mic.

It would be great if this was midlet based as I'd like to broden the market. Not that I think people who own bb's don't play but lets face it PDA's (as the rest of the world see them) are still for the tech savy and business pro's

Default

you can record audio using the same MMAPI. See sample in RecordControl javadoc.
But I doubt that device mic quality will be ok for your purposes.
