1)Is there any software that allows to edit AND make new entries in the address book, make reminders, appointments, etc, on the PC and then import all that into the phone? I don't see any way to do this with the desktop manager...

2)My trackball is by far not as responsive as I thought it would be. I thought that just spinning the ball a little should move between options, but in fact I have to spin it several times very fast to get a proper response. It's not the end of the world or anything like that, and I probably wouldn't bother with an RMA, but I want to know if this is normal.

3)Is the GPS service free, or do I have to pay for the service?

4)Is there any software that allows to convert movies to blackberry format and then upload them onto the device?

5)It it just me or is there something about today's camera sensors? My very old 1mp camera phone makes more realistic pictures than my blackberry. :( Sure, the berry makes more vivid images, and supposedly they are supposed to be of higher quality, but I cant help but feel how "artificial" looking they are. Almost as if they are drawn and not shot by a camera. I am noticing this in newer cameras as well. My old Canon PowerShot A80 makes better pics, then my new Olympus which has a much higher megapixel count, and is much better in every way according to reviews...

6)What is the maximum size SD card that is supported by this phone?

7)In your experience, does the keyboard tend to wear out or get damaged after prolonged use?

Thanks very much.

Hi, I am trying to play around with the USBSample that is provided when you download the JDE. I see that the initial project was built for VC++ 6. Upon opening in VS 2008 and trying to compile (after it does project conversion) I get a plethora of link errors. Any ideas what I need to do to get this project to compile correctly? Thanks in advance!

I just thought i should share my experience. First off ill start by saying this, if you get an unlock code from us and it DOES NOT work, no questions...

I just thought i should share my experience. First off ill start by saying this, if you get an unlock code from us and it DOES NOT work, no questions asked, we ALWAYS refund within 24 hours or so. But this was ridiculous. i get an order yesterday for an unlock, information that was included was:

NAME: jkhjks fghfdh
EMAIL:

so i was WTF lol, i get a call 5 min later from unknown number saying, yes im the person with order number 10008 i made a mistake with my information, can you correct it, i was sure no problem, ill fix right away. so that was it then and there

So, you gotta know this guys, store number is forwarded to my blackberry, so even after business hours i still get the calls. I get a call at 1:30 am from them saying: my code does not work, i replied, just call us tomorrow and we'll help you out, dont worry.

So now, to this morning... I get a call from them saying code does not work, i want a refund now!!!... im ok lets verify this together. I tell them, go to options, advanced options, sim card, now type MEP2. before id finish 1 direction, they were yeah, yeah, yeah, im there now. It was so fast, it even would take a veteran BB user longer to navigate the menu. i was kind of shocked to say the least (i assume they were not even doing it, phones unlocked at this point).
i tell them to enter code again, they say its not working. ok..... at this point im a little sketched out. i never ever require a screen shot of a phone when a customer says it didnt work, i have never asked for one. This time i felt i should... I tell them, can i get a screen shot? they reply no, my camera is broken, can i have a refund? I reply, ok no problem, ill send you a screen capture program, its free, snap a pic and ill refund right away, they reply i have no internet, can i get a refund? i answer well if you have no internet how are you getting our emails? they reply, on a laptop.
ok.......... so at this point, im ok ill email you the file, and add it via a USB cable on the device, they reply i have no USB cable. At this point im speechless. i ask if they have bluetooth, they reply yes but it doesnt work... ok... Then it comes to me!! i ask, you said you had a broken camera, you can use the usb cable from that, they reply, no i lost it. Can i get a refund?

i would never put a customer through this, never have before, never will again but this was clearly BS. then i asked if they had a neighbor with a USB cable, they reply, no im on vacation for a month. At this point im flabbergasted.they then hang up. a few min later i get a call from them saying, can i speak to the manager, im sure, i pass them over to the manager (im the owner by the way) and they proceeded to ask for a refund, i told the manager, not without a screenshot. He informs customer and the customer asks for the owner. I explain everything again. Not happy they proceed to tell me Is it ok if i put an add in the local newspaper about how you rip customers off? i replied, sure, spend $40 bucks on an add to get 14 bucks back. Then they tell me, im going to police. i reply no problem, police will verify if unlock worked. then they inform me that all conversations were recorded!! im thats good to know, but in your state you have to inform the party before hand that you are recording, otherwise thats against the law. then at that point they hung up.

As soon as i got off the phone, i went and refunded them. same time im doing that, we get an email from customer saying he wants a refund and i approved!!! never did i approve it. I was refunding cause i felt bad at how far they went to get a free unlock code and how creative they were. I just dont like being lied to, i know for a fact that they were... I would have let it go and refunded if they just told me they didnt have the money. I would have given them the code for free.

so how was your day?

Why did the "Style sheet" and "html" options disappear? I'm not for the flashy stuff, I'm for quick, easily viewable pages. Side-scrolling is a big no-no RIM, you guys should know this by now. So is zooming. Well, at least you didn't completely remove the shortcut key for the options menu but 'S'? I've always wondered where the goofy designations come from like 'F' for profile and 'U' for calculator - now I know firsthand but I think 'S' for options is pushing it. Also, the "Cursor" option needs to come back, there are a couple sites where I can't manage to get a link highlighted unless I turn it off and scroll down old-school style.

Software For BlackBerry® Pearl Flip (TM) 8220 smartphone from Indosat.
This will load to any carrier's 8220 device by following the directions below.
This OS contains English.

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.6.0.471 (EastAsia)

Package Version: 4.6.0.471
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.6.0.278
* Software Platform: 4.1.0.98
* File name: 8220EastAsia_PBr4.6.0_rel471_PL4.1.0.98_A4.6.0.278 _Indosat.exe
* File size: 85.5MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

* Download Software: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...B53786A2C5FA09

Instructions for installing on ANY 8220(regardless of carrier)

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

Note For Advanced Users Only: If you plan on deleting the cod file for pre-installed media your exterior LCD will not function correctly. This does not pertain to people doing normal installs. You will not be affected.

Upon restart still initial white screen came up with "JUM Error 529" and gave me the option to continue. I continued and the phone came online - all but the 4GB Micro SD card.

My blackberry 8320 (OS 4.5.052) doesn't charge from wall charger, but it does from USB cable.

I bought a new battery to see if that solved the problem, but I got the same problem. I also bought a new wall charger, and nothing. I charged those 2 batterys from a friend bb8320, So I don't think is a battery or charger problem.

The little lightning bolt appears for 5 seconds and then disappear when I try to charge it (from wall charger).

When it is connected to the computer it charges well, the little lightning botl doesn't disappear.

Could it be a software problem? I've read something about the "little lightning bolt" dissapear when the battery is full and you try to charge from a wall charger, but my battery isn't full.

Thanks for any help

I have been using this program for a long time now. It's a phone remote control for your PC.

hxxp://blueshareware.com/

Very happy with it. Nice interface, can control mouse or iTunes, Powerpoint, Media Player Classic, etc. I use it over boothtooth with my older phone and can do it over bluetooth with my BB Pearl Flip 8220. Had the hardest time installing it on this BB. Copied the jar file to SD card. Went into media, hit explore and installed it from there (if that helps anyone else) I have set it up to do it over WiFi which would be much much better. I did it the same as I did it for my old phone, opened ports and have NO_IP to give me a static IP and of course made an internal static. I have tried alot of things and it always either times out with some sort of Java exspection or it says phone out of range. Anyone else have this or can try it for free, but even the bluetooth side is worth the small charge. Please help I really want this to work over WiFi. Thank You.
