Why did it do this?!

My partner has a Blackberry from 2010 and it had a 'funny turn' over the weekend. No idea what went on with it but if anyone could help it would solve this mystery for us!

What it did was....
Phone call was made but not answered (by son) at 2.14pm
Picked up phone again at 11pm when going to bed and it had a blank screen/wouldnt activate. Tried to turn it back on but it wouldnt do anything. Seemed dead.
Took out the battery and sim and left it for few minutes. Put them back in. It turned on but the white screen had a tiny square shaped black clockface with a rotating hand like a timer so we waited....
nothing happened after ten minutes so took out the sim and battery again, and put them back in again after waiting a few minutes ....the same thing appeared on the screen with the clock going round but it had some teeny tiny words under the clock, then on the very bottom of the screen it had the words
'failed to connect to stephie Xx' in a odd typeface ( not usual one )

there is no stephie in the phonebook and no one knows of one. ( yes honestly!)

My partner assumed his phone was tampered with....but no one is owning up!
Its working ok now but the seeds of suspicion are still there....there are 4 children in this house....

any ideas anyone?!

Hey folks,

I recently returned from a trip abroad and while away I sent to my family various messages to a little BBM Group my younger sister help set up of what I had done the previous days. For some reason that remains to be seen, the default setting on BBM Groups is keep messages for 3 days. Needless to say, there were a few messages that my mom really liked and wants to save, but she isn't technologically inclined and they have since disappeared from her phone.

Is there any way to get these messages back? Perhaps a phone restore to a few days ago or something? Or is there someone I can call at BB or my carrier (Rogers) to get them to retrieve it? Surely it's saved on a server somewhere.

My mom woke up this morning stressed beyond belief that she's lost one message I sent in particular (the one reflecting on the trip as a whole) and she would love to be able to save it.

Thanks, and to the mothers out there: have a happy mother's day!

Hi, first post after searching the forum and Google with no success.

Also, battery pull done, backup and restore using desktop software done, ensured latest software installed, made sure phone is fully charged, no new apps added, so that should take care of the generic simple answers.

Around two days ago, I started getting a notification beep and single LED flash, with no message or email being delivered.

It's got so annoying that I've had to change my profile to one that doesn't beep when an email or app notifier is delivered (suggesting that the problem lies within one of those two fields), but the single LED flash is still there, again with no message of any kind being delivered.

This happens around every 5-10 minutes. I have tried turning off all app notifiers, then all email notifiers, but the beep and flash still comes through every 5-10 mins regardless.

Any ideas on what the problem is?

Using a Blackberry 8900 which is a great phone and I am on my third one so quite conversant with them
Problem with my current one, which is fairly new:
I am constantly being presented with the following:
You are attempting to open a secure connection, but the servers certificate is invalid. Optiopns:
1.	Continue
2.	Close connection
3.	View Certificate
4.	Trust Certificate
When I ok the first three I am able to carry on until next presented with the options.
When I take the 4th option I am then presented with : Key Store Access. Following application is requesting access to your Handheld Key Store. Please enter your Keystore Password.
I then enter the correct Keystore Password which I generated when setting the phone up originally and I can then continue using the phone.
However periodically throughout the day I am presented with the original options set out above.
How can I stop this once and for all?

Hi all,

I wonder if you can assist with a perplexing issue.

I am having a major issue with Accuweather on a Blackberry Curve 9300. when I install it and open it it simply never connects and I have noticed that my BIS service (blackberry logo next to the 3G notification) seems to disappear at the same time. Once Accuweather is closed down, my BIS service(logo) returns.
I have tried the following:
Upgraded my SIM card.
Uninstalling and reinstalling Accuweather.
Done a factory reset (loader.exe /resettofactory) on the blackberry and reloaded the OS6 firmware (6.0.0.749) for the phone and then reinstalled Accuweather.

Nothing helps, it does the same thing every time.. Please note that this is a brand new phone and all other services, such as email etc. work flawlessly. also my husband has an identical phone with the same OS 6 and the same upgraded SIM card and Accuweather works fine on his phone.

Any assistance in this regard would be really appreciated.

Thanking you,
Gail de Wet.

Both the devices are Curve 8250

I upgraded one of the BBM version into BBM7, then also I upgraded the other one.

The problem came up when I finished setup-ing the second BBM with the SAME email.

All BBM Contact from the first moved to the second, and the first's BBM is unavailable. I tried to restore from computer but didn't work.

Could please anyone help me?
