I've read a couple of RSS feeds about this exciting development and as far as i can see it will be available on just the Storm2 9550 and Curve 8530 for the time being as they both sport the latest gen Qualcomm chipsets...

However the bigger question is when will this OpenGL ability/support be available to GSM devices rather than CDMA devices? Unless GSM devices are using Qualcomm chipsets nowadays as well

Anyone shed any light on this?

RIM to Merge Adobe's Flash into BlackBerry Platform

posted Today, 12:00 PM by Eric M. Zeman

Today Research In Motion and Adobe announced that the two will work together to integrate Flash technology into the BlackBerry development platform. This new level of integration will let developers use Adobe Flash and Adobe Creative Suite tools to create content and applications for BlackBerry devices. Developers that use Adobe's tool sets will have a much easier time porting image and video content from applications such as PhotoShop, Illustrator, and After Effects into BlackBerry development tools such as the BlackBerry java Eclipse plug-in. The new Flash tools should make for better applications and services for end users.

Please, can somebody clarify this for me. I'm on Verizon, and I've been following the release of the Tour, and apparently a Tour2 (with WiFi). I checked the BB "comparison" link, and see that the Tour and Bold are very similar, but that the Bold is GSM and has the new "trackpad". Questions, please:
1) Is the Tour essentially the CDMA version of the Bold, or does Verizon have any plans to release a Bold model?

2) How has the BB community generally responded to both models, is one generally more "preferred" than the other, and why?

Thanks in advance!

What do you guys think about the essex. Basically its a Tour with wifi and trackpad. Also following similar naming conventions as recent releases...it may be labeled the Tour2.

Ok, so my company just converted company wide from Verizon to T-Mobile. Unfortunatly I was already on T-Mobile and I got my BB Curve 8320 in Nov 08. So even tho all of my colleagues were getting brand new Curve 8900's they said I couldn't get a new phone becuase mine was less than a year old.

I like that my 8320 is red, but other than that the lack of 3G and its lack of RAM for applications aggrevate the crap out of me. I always have to delete something when I find a new app that I have to have. Thank god for UMA though, becuase otherwise I have no cell phone coverage in my apartment.

So anyway with my new phone being a year off, what is coming from Tmo and BB that will make me 'ok' with having to use my 8320 for another year?

Looking at the 9700 on the Vodafone website and the software looks the same, but then on another forum i read that it might not be that different from the current models because there is a next generation of bb's coming.

Any idea?

Is it like cars where they have a facelift to freshen things up, and then bring out a complete new one?
