USA Device Not Recognized
One of the usb devices connected to this computer has malfunctioned . . . .
I tried a different computer and got the same result, so I assume it's my BB. I've removed the battery (a fairly new one) and also reinstalled my drivers on the laptop (although I guess that doesn't help if the problem is with the device).

Okay, There's a million different answers to this question... I just need one. I have a very limited knowledge of computers so you will have to explain everything as if you are speaking to a child. I own a Blackberry Flip 8220. It has worked fine for the last 5 and a half months. But all of the sudden it started doing what I believe is a "nuked" cycle. I don't know what I did but it started working again. Now, a week later, the same thing happens again. Except this time the ONLY thing that happens, no matter what I do is JVM error 547. I've gone through all the scrolling options. None do any good. I've tried to wipe it with the JL_ program thing that i cant think of the name. please someone just tell me the correct solution to fixing this phone. Detailed instructions would be great... DO NOT BE AFRAID TO BABY THE INSTRUCTIONS! Thank you,

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I couldn't find anything related to numbers in the custom dictionary. Here's the issue:
I have a Pearl Flip 8220. When typing numbers, predictive text tries to guess the number I'm going for, usually an IP or MAC address that I entered long ago in a memo. I can't seem to find a way to remove these entries. they don't show up in the custom dictionary. I even cleared the custom dictionary and they didn't flush out.
Anyone know how to remove these number entries?

Thanks!

I downloaded a app that reboots my phone. I set it to run every morning so it reboots while Im sleeping. But every morning when I wake up it says the reboot couldnt take place because the device was holstered. So my question is how do I unholster my phone. I looked everywhere on my phone and cant find a option to unholster it with. Its probably something simple and Im just missing it but Im very confused. So if anyone knows how to unholster a 8230 BB pearl flip let me know.

Also if anyone knows any great apps let me know, Im new to BB. I already found some great ones. I downloaded QuickPull Lite getting ready to get the Pro edition of it. I also have MemoryUp Pro its worth every penny for saving memory. I also got a couple sports apps Im a sports freak. So if ya got any ideas throw em my way.

One more thing. How does the BB messenger work? Can you only chat with other BB owners. If so that sucks I only know like 3 other people with BB. Is there anyway to get in contact with other BB owners who like to chat here? But thanks in advance.

I am facing this error whenever I switch on my phone. The phone basically stops responding and I am not able to do anything more. Even the cursor doesn't move when I move the track ball. I tried taking off the battery & restarting, tried updating device software, deleted all applications from DM, nothing works. It is very frustrating, any help is very much appreciated.

Hi,
I only got my BlackBerry 8220 today and I am already having problems with it.
Once home I put my sim card in and then put the phone on charge, that's when the problems started!
Every so often while it was charging the phone would have a circle egg timer icon appear for a few minutes and then the phone would turn off and a red light would appear. Now the phone has charged the phone is still doing the same as above every so often.

Do you think the phone is broke or have I not done something? Also the phone doesn't have a micro card in it.

Thanks,
Lucy.

Software For BlackBerry® Pearl Flip (TM) 8230 smartphone from SaskTel

This will load to any carrier's 8230 device by following the directions below.

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.6.1.454 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 4.6.1.454
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.6.1.309
* Software Platform: 3.3.0.95
* File name: 8230AMEA_PBr4.6.1_rel454_PL3.3.0.95_A4.6.1.309_Sas kTel.exe
* File size: 90.59MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

* Download Software: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...4571FBD180E1C8

Instructions for installing on ANY 8230(regardless of carrier)

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

Note For Advanced Users Only: If you plan on deleting the cod file for pre-installed media your exterior LCD will not function correctly. This does not pertain to people doing normal installs. You will not be affected.
