Storm2 Contact Nightmares

Well I have recently bought a storm 2 from verizon. Sweet worked awesome for the first little while... Well then I got greedy and tried to have it sync with both gmail and face book. This resulted in contacts names/numbers getting all jumbled and multiplied like crazy. I went into my options and made the mistake of wiping email/contacts. After doing this it took forever to add my email back on and I think it did it through enterprise which I do not have. I not can not get my BB to even sync with my gmail contacts. I need to know how to undo what ever it is I have done.

Help with putting a microsoft excel document on my storm.pls

I have registered with sheets to go and am now trying put an excel document on my phone however everytime i try and grab and drop the file into the document folder it says that this file may not be supported by the device and the options are skip,skip all, cancel, all of which pretty much cancel it.
The only file i can drop it into is the data file but when i go on sheets to go i cant access this file.
Any1 know how to do it??
would really appreciate help as i really need to update things regualarly on my spreadsheet for work.

Ate my fingers alogn with my nails. Some apps dont show up in menu after installing

Guys, I'm really frustrated, angry and I dunno what. I have this BlackBerry storm and it has some crazy software problem I think. Whenever I install software like:

* FaceBook
* Google Talk
* Google Calendar Sync
* Yahoo messenger etc

the application installs just great during setup but then I get NO ICON TO LAUNCH IT. This is driving me crazy.

On the other hand, other applications install just fine. For example
* Windows live messenger is working great
* Berry Snooper I use for tracking my phone is working great
* My favorite Berry Beacon works great
* Opera mini installs and runs great.

So some of the apps are messing up, rest are just great.

I've tried installing over the air, using my PC on browser as well as desktop manager. It installs great but no icon shows up in the menu. Can somebody help?

Still trying to type on this device coming from a Bold :)

1. What are the absolute best settings for the keyboard to be successful at this thing? Also, do most use "full keyboard" or Suretap?

2. Which if any Free News readers work in full screen mode on the Storm?

3. The stock screen protectors (verizon) shows so many fingerprints and "clouds" the display. Can someone tell me which protector would provide crystal clear film and less visible finger prints? Also perhaps a full film glove?

4. With alerts how do I check set sms to vibrate only and not tone?

Tiny text on incoming call screen

When I receive a call and the number is not in my address book, it displays the number on my screen. Normal, yes. But the text of the number is TINY. I have to hold it up close to read the number.

a) Is this normal?
b) Any way to make it bigger?

The rest of my text is fine.

I don't really get the file structure yet on me new BB storm 9530 4.7.148 < cant go to 5.0.328 waa waa.. anyway i do a lot of tex and was wondering how if i can save all msgs as i get them to media card? Thanks for any help.

From Curve to Storm 2

Quick question; I just got the ok to order the Storm 2 and am currently using the Curve 8330. I did a full back up, so my question is when I get the new phone can I just load all my stuff right onto the new phone? I'm on a BES and so all my contacts, calendar and e-mail will follow that way, but I was wondering about all the 3rd party apps, and all the pictures and ring tones that I currently have, will they all load over to the new phone if I use the desktop software? Thanks in advance. :)

Duplicate Message Accounts Showing

Hi,

I have a storm and am signed up with Verizon. When my email was originally setup at the Verizon store, they setup my email as IMAP. My email account is hosted on Exchange server at our office, but I do not want to use BES. I was having some problems with the IMAP, and I was able to correct it by changing my email settings via the verizon BB web page to use Outlook Web Access and it works great. The only issue now is that on the main screen I have two messaging icons, one with the previous email as well as it's receiving the most current email as well, and a second account that is the fresh account I setup that only has the email that is current.

Is there any way to eliminate the old email account on the phone? Any thoughts woudl be great.

the missing sync, spash id, and pocket day

I recently switched from a palm centro to the storm 2 and have several questions:
1) I am using a mac and just bought "the missing sync". Is this the only software I should be using on my computer to back up my info. Do I have to use ical and address book to view my contacts?
2) How can I get my "notes" from my palm desktop onto my storm? Is there a way to manage this somewhere on my desktop and then sync, or should I buy another application? I loved on my palm how there were many diff categories and I could group things together to organize my memos. It doesn't seem to be there on the BB. Someone suggested downloading splash id. Any thoughts? Will I be able to manage that on my desktop? And will it be compatible with my new wireless sync?
3) Not loving the new calendar. How do you "search" it for say...someone's birthday? I have heard pocket day is great. Can/should I download this? Same questions as #2 for pocket day....can I manage it on my desktop, and will it wirelessly sync? Is it more similar to the old palm calendar?

and most importantly, how well will all of these things work together??

Really having a hard time switching over. I love the more advanced features of the BB, but miss the basic things I really had down! Any feedback is sooo appreciated...

Too much stuff on home screen

Before I upgraded to OS 5 I had one row of icons om my home screen - the one where u put ur favourite pic, not eh screen with all the apps. But since the upgrade I have two rows of icons on my home screen. I want only one row of icons but I don't know how to do it. I thought i found it at Options>Advanced Options>Accessibility, but that Home screen seems to refer to the screen with all the folders and icons with apps like applications, camera, games, manage options, power, etc. So how do I do it

Can't use my dial Pad

I recently upgraded my storm to OS 5, the performance is great. HOwever, I noticed that I can't use my dial pad to make a phone call. when I press the buttons, nothing happens, I also notice the the numbers on the keypad no longer have letters on them like abc def, etc. Also, I have my voice mail on speed dial, when I hold down that key it dials the voice mail but the dial pad that comes up is a mess, some of the keys each have a letter, a couple others each have a number 1, 5, 0. I have already done a battery pull and that made no difference.

Please help

Storm2 BB maps I open the app then menu and start GPS navigation�in order to have the red arrow go to right direction as I�m driving I have to go to menu and switch from north up to track up every time like it doesn�t save my setting when I close and open BB maps again?

I started using Google maps as I�m driving north for example on the map the blue GPS arrow is going the opposite way how to fix this?

Not being able to email + loose battery cover

Hey there,

Just got my Storm 2 and im really happy about it, except 2 things.

1 i cant seem to send emails from my phone, i can type the email, and i fill everything in. But i cant press the top right envelope. I can press it all i want but it wont do anything.
According to the manual im supposed to send it by pushing the option button and then press send. But there is no send option in my options while writing the email.

2 The battery door seems a bit loose, am i the only one experiencing this ?

Blackberry Storm 2 Question

I know this phone hasn't released yet but I"m looking forward to it. However I've got a few questions on Wifi and plans to sign up on. I want to use it as a regular phone with my Verizon Unlimited text,pix and video messages along with my calling plan but also use the wifi for hitting hot spots to check email and browse online without purchasing the data plan. Is this all possible to do or will it be possible to do on this phone? I hope I explained this well enough.
