Blackberry Desktop Manager and Outlook 2010 beta

I am using Blackberry Desktop Manager 5.01 on Windows 7 x64 and can not get it sync with Outlook 2010 beta x64. When I go into the Setup portion of Synchronization for with Address book or Calendar to select Outlook as my application it is not on list of applications just Outlook Express, Yahoo, and another one that escapes me right now. I reload Blackerry Desktop manager over again with the same results. It work fine with Outlook 2007 but not Outlook 2010 beta. Has anyone else have this problem? Hopeful there will be a fix from RIM soon.

Is it possible to see more than just the inbox for a particular email you've configured on the BB?

I think the iPhone lets you browse the trash/spam/folders of your email account from what I've seen. Is this possible on the BB? I have the 9700.

Desktop Manager v5.0.1 problems

I am having a couple of minor problems with Blackberry Desktop Manager v5.0.1 and would appreciate if anyone has any suggestions.

I downloaded and installed the software (501_b030_multilanguage.exe) from the web site and when I do help about it tells me the following -
- Version 5.0.1.18 [Aug 21 2009]

1. When I have been away from my desk and reconnect the blackberry to the USB cable it will open the Device password required window but it no longer brings that window to the foreground or makes it active. So if you forget about entering the password you end up finding that it is still sending messages to the blackberry.

- Is there a way to change this back to the old behaviour of popping the window up in the foreground?

2. The automated notice about updated software is telling me there is an updated version -
- BlackBerry Desktop Software v5.0.1 2009-10-30 36 MB
Unfortunately the automatic update did not work, and I don't know if it is because I am on a business network and need to go through a proxy server for web and ftp access (and thus why I downloaded the software manually).

- Is this a different version of v5.0.1 or is this just a nuisance message that I should ignore?

- Is there a way to get the automated download to work from behind a firewall and through a proxy server?

handheldcleanup.exe -u causes issues with old e-mail

I am a "new" administrator to BlackBerry Professional Software (latest version). Things were working fine in the following configuration:
Windows 2003 Server running exchange 2003
BlackBerry Professional Software Version 4.1.4.3 running on the above server.

I installed a new server Windows 2008 64-bit with Exchange 2007 installed. Added besadmin rights to that exchange instance and migrated a mailbox. This all went very well until the blackberry was not sending/receiving mail. Outlook worked fine as did owa.

I researched and found what I though was the solution. Run handheldcleanup.exe -u and reboot both servers. This did work in a sense, the blackberry was able to send and receive e-mail but was not able to reply to any old messages. A red x came back when trying to send.

This was Saturday so the mail from Saturday though this morning that was received could be responded to with no problem.

This afternoon I ran handheldcleanup.exe -u again and rebooted and sure enough the mail from yesterday and this morning could not be responded to but messages after I performed these tasks were able to be responded to.

So my question is why does handheldcleanup.exe -u appear to "disconnect" the blackberry from messages received before the uitlity is run? Also what can I do to get the "connection" re-establised so that old e-mail can be responded to etc.?

desktop manager

was running desktop manager on my Dell laptop, it automatically checked for updates and then everything went south. Called RIM told to remove desktop manager then reinstall can't keep getting installation was interrupted try again later. Spend 4 hours with RIM support with no help the only thing RIM did was totally mess my laptop up and help would be appreciated.

weird recurring problem using DM

so i have a game (spyhunter) which was downloaded OTA, everytime I sync with DM, it uninstalls spyhunter w/o any notification when updating apps and would have to go and check it again before updating apps. this has happened everytime and can't figure out why. any ideas on how to prevent this from happening? it also keeps uninstalling BBM 4.7 since I have BBM 5.0 now but cannot delete from list.

Install 5.0 on non active Storm...anyone know how?

I called VZW and was told the phone must be active. I have tried the online updater and desktop Manager. Neither will update it. Anyone know a way w/out it being activated?

bb media synch crashes window xp, i'm new to bb world

Hi, I just got my bb a few days ago and am still sort of learning it...but i have gotten some of my music and most of my pictures on it, but that was through the media manager, i'd like to transfer the music from my windows media player to my bb, but everytime i click on blackberry media synch thru blackberry desktop mgr it either gives me a an error message that says the program has encountered an error and needs to close, or when I just now tried it it started to say loading playlists, then it vanished...any ideas? do i have to use that program to get the music on the bb, or could I synch thru windows media player?

If it helps I believe I have version 5 of the bb desktop mgr and I have XP as an operating system on my computer

I have a bold and my desktop manager crashed without no reason and I couldn't uninstall it. So I tried to re-install it but when I run the setup program, it give me below message in "Windows Installer" window and doesn't proceed any more.

Desktop Manger 5.0.1 - frequent updates of OS 4.6 Core Applications on my Bold

A few days ago I upgraded to DM 5.0.1 and it immediately updated my Bold's OS from 4.6.0.297 to 4.6.0.303, which is an official system but not released by my carrier, yet.
This was a first surprised as earlier DM has not even suggested system updates (I usually installed new OS once it was released by any official carrier).

Second surprise came in two days and yesterday when after regular daily sync DM has announced need for another update. As I progressed, it updated Core Applications to 4.6 (no more details) and run a short restart (did not required PIN input). I cannot really identify what was updated :-(

Does anyone came across this "staying at the cutting edge of updates" approach of new DM?

P.S. Unfortunately I had also run into downgrade of Documents on the Go problem and ended up unloading them completely.

Blackberry tour network problem

I am having black berry tour mobile. this mobile I am using in Singapore. I am getting problem with it. its network going off again and again. in almost every 30-60 seconds its network getting off. then again everytime we have to manually switch on the network. I am really very much bugged with this issue. anyone please can help me to come out with the issue.

Synchronization option ans Synch crash win xp & outlook

I cannot get the BB Storm to synch. I have installed the version that came with this Voda UK unit and tried upgrading to 5.0.1 but to no avail. Everytime I try to synch the unit with PIM it crashes the desktop software. I can't even enter the synch option to deselect a PIM element. Hitting the synch options button also crashes it.

I have tried doing a manual uninstall of the DT software and repaired the outlook datafile. No matter. It just won't have it.

As this is my wife's purchase (against my advice) frankly one more day wasting time on this and she can have the pain free apple iphone (like i suggested in the first place), and this piece of junk can go to some desperate third world country where they can maybe use it as a flashlight.

Weird email problem.....

I have a Bold on os 4.6 with 2 AOL accounts setup.

When an email comes in I read it and then moments later it disappears!

When I look at my online AOL accounts, the emails are also gone.

Mind you I am NOT deleting these emails!
Memory is fine.

Any ideas?

Intellisync Unknown error reported

I am new to Blackberry, installed DM 5.0 on my Windows XP system with Office 2007. When ever the Desktop Manager starts or I try to sync with outlook I get Intellisync Unknown error reported
I have tried every solution documented on any forum and spent 4 hours with RIM on the phone. They are telling me it seems to be a Microsoft issue, I should reinstall XP

I was trying to see if it was a bad calendar entry or something but could not figure out how to find it. I also tried to switch to a empty PST, but the problem seems solid.

Application Loader Question

I went to install a new ap, and Loader said the only option I had for BB Messenger was "downgrade". I did that and it disappeared from my phone. I reloaded OTA, but how do I avoid this in the future?

Browser Data Cache Fix?

Every time I want to backup my device I have to do it manually due to me needing to go to advanced in the desktop software and clear the "Browser Data Cache". It's really annoying since I've had to do this manually for years. Is there any fix for this known issue?
