Anyone got a solution to this yet?

I have the Q10 which did some of the things mentioned above in this thread. I have since figured out that if you make the changes then "restart the hub", the changes take effect.

To restart the Hub on a Q10 do the following:

1. Bring up the hub screen

2. From the upper right corner drag your thumb diagonal to the center of the screen from there change direction and move your thumb straight up to the top center of the screen and remove thumb. This is done as one continuous motion!

3. Do the action described (in #2) 4 consecutive times and your screen will say "restarting Hub", once that pops up you have finished. The restart takes about 5 seconds.

Hope that helps, I'm not sure if the restart procedure works on the Z10 as I've never tried it? One of my coworker restarts his Z10 by tapping on the hub screen 5 times in a row, so perhaps try that?

Good luck

Your plea is in vain. You think if it ever would have made a difference that it matters now? And here? No. And that is why your post is a rant.

The best thing you can do is talk to whomever you bought the device from. That is your recourse.

Nope.
No one said ANYTHING about IPD files, did they?

Link has a facility (which somewhat works) to move data from one device to another, similar to the switch device wizard.

Link has a backup and restore facility.

The IPD's were just an assumption. Ugh.... OK. I researched the link and found the how-to procedure:

Transfer from iPhone & Android to BlackBerry 10 Smartphones - US (http://us.blackberry.com/support/transferring-to-bb10-device.html)

It seems everything will transfer except the emails. Tasks and memos will only transfer if it was a BIS phone.

I guess the new backup utility will create some new proprietary file.

I have my hub set up to only show my e-mail accounts. So for me to read my text messages I have to hit the text message button. But when I delete all my e-mails via the hub it also deletes my text messages. Any ideas??

I couldn't read all of that without getting bored, but I'm feeling nicer today than I normally would in this situation, so here are the links to everything you need to know. It's genuine knowledge and my genuine opinion follows.

Exchange ActiveSync - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exchange_ActiveSync)

And here is how Gmail works:
IMAP IDLE - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IMAP_IDLE)
CalDAV - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CalDAV)
CardDAV - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CardDAV)

I have seen no increase in data usage with the above protocols over BIS, they're as fast or faster than BIS, simpler, and there are fewer points of failure. It's better and far more flexible.

Finally, I absolutely do know the BB market outside of the US. I travel (have been to ~35 countries on 5 continents), and I have lived outside of the US for several years in places a lot more challenging than Indonesia for technology. Don't make assumptions.
