I've had my Blackberry Q10 for ~2 weeks and I'm still trying to get used to it.

My main texting/e-mailing phone by choice was my trusty Blackberry Bold 9700 but it was starting to show its age (battery cover would no longer close because it fell on the floor once too many times, battery wouldn't last, required a reboot almost every day, etc.)

So far I really like my Blackberry Q10. There are some things that I don't really like about it or preferred how it work on my Bold 9700 but all in all, the Q10 is a very good device.

That's exactly what I was assuming. Interesting that they'd leave something out that was so handy. To this day I miss my 8800 because I had Q to dial "QuikTran" my banks automated teller and A to call my Aunt Awesome. Are the shortcut functions still available? B for browser, M for messages, etc?

Many of my associates do not want to rely on "cloud" for vital functions. Sure it is convenient. But it requires reliable Internet connection that simply isn't as widely available as some would think. Also, since users have no actual recourse against the servers owners promises are hollow.

Then there is the matter of privacy and the other factor, security. Again without a realistic way to enforce contracts users are really operating on faith.

There is reason to believe data compromises are more frequent than what has been publicly disclosed.

Lets face it. for the most part I like the fact that RIM continues to cater to the business crowd....Its WHAT they do. I am not in a BB for games...got a Wi and PS3 for that stuff., and if mobile, I'd be concerned about running into parked cars or a lamppost if I had an iPhone or a Samsung BOX. (why aren't there more reported injuries from that kind of sheet eh.??)

I digress..Lol

I am however, interested in a screaming fast browser..oh yea.
I am however, also interested in a dual core processor..uhuh.
I am however, very interested in 64Gb of microSD
And..hoping the TELE-phone capabilities are up to snuff - contrary to many of the sheeple, I actually talk on my phone from time to time.

All good things...larger screen too will not be a negative either.
Skype native..yea not a _bad_ thing either eh.

BBM, E-MAIL are my main tickets... and the wife gets my 9900 till the end of its contract in a year. She too will be happy..for now.!

Glad I go on days off Friday...May 3rd I think it is. Seems I'll be in a Telus store Sat aft..!!

cheers from Suncor Oil Sands

It seems to be all but up for sale on Amazon UK. About £200 more expensive than the Z10, so I hope it drops sooner rather than later... I don't see why it should be more expensive than the Z10.
