When I go through the Application Loader wizard and pick USB-PIN: UNKNOWN and click next, it just keeps saying "Connecting to the device (ARM)... and it never goes anywhere. My BB is also blinking red in a 1, 1-2-3 pattern when I click next. Any ideas?

hello I have a question I have checked out many posts online and forums with this very issue and still cant seem to get the right help. I have a BB pearl 8110 that I have had for around 2 months it has version 4.5.0.102 and I also just bought a motorola H390 headset, was told that I can listen to music with the headset and the music will shut off when a call comes and turn back on after blah blah blah. well so far the only freakin thing I can do is call out and recieve calls. was told that the version 4.5 has A2DP capability and that so does the H390 I am a bit flustered and was wondering if these two units have this ability and is it posible to listen to tunes on the 8110 with this headset or any other

Last night a friend of mine tried to call me several different times and each time the phone on his end would ring once.. then a message would say 'the customer you have dialed has the phone turned off'...

Meanwhile - my phone was defiantly turned on as I kept checking it to find out why that person was not calling me.

I have lots of signal where I am at.. all bars etc....

This happens at random times no matter where I am?

So I called the person around 1030 to find out why they haven't called.. they explained that they did but the phone was saying it was shut off. So I hung up... and they called back again to check to see if was working.. and it rang???

Please help me as I am missing important phone calls!!!!!

Hello All,
I back-up my blackberry 8100's information monthly due to the volume down control not functioning, and restoring a previous back-up gets it back at 50%. But as of now, everytime I try to restore a backup , the desktop media manger tells me "Error restoring database(s)". I have tried backing up 4 different back-ups and I get the same message. Wether I choose the option "Restore" or "Advance", I still get an error.
I think my only option now is to do a clean install of the OS. But I do not know how to go about this, so any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

p.s. I also have a minor issue. My trackball rolls with no problem in all directions, however clicking it down is another issue. The trackball was covered with something like syrup. I think it might not have to do with the trackball at all, but rather the small metal insert that accepts the connection to the trackballs input...or am I mistaken? I have to press on it really hard for it to respond.How would I go about cleaning this (Remember the trackball responds to all directions except pressing it down).

Thank you all for your time and help, it is greatly appreciated

Consisting of:
* Applications: 4.5.0.180
* Software Platform: 2.7.0.105
* File name: 8110M_PBr4.5.0_rel302_PL2.7.0.105_A4.5.0.180_Vodaf one_UK.exe
* File size: 98.11MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

* Download Software: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...05D7C424EBAE5F

This download is from Vodafone UK but will work on ANY carrier's 8100 model BB. (Not 8100, 8120 or 8130)

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded. (Vista users be sure to right click on the .exe file and select "Run As Administrator.")
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

I haven't had a lot of luck with BB phones, on my 5th!.

Recently I dropped my BB into a bowl of hot chillie fish oil (a famous Sichuan dish in China)

I have stripped the BB down and washed all the parts, but I need to immerse the mainboard into some solution that will disperse the oil (it still smells bad) and not damage the screen or anything else, of course it may already be destroyed but I want to try.
Any recommendations on a cleaning solution that will disperse Oil (cooking oil) I probably need something that will clean the keypad as well. Appreciate any replies.
Would cleaning alcohol do it (Ethanol) ?

File name: 8130uAMEA_PBr4.5.0_rel295_PL3.4.0.55_A4.5.0.175_Sp rint_L.P.exe
File size: 88.01MB

Instructions for installing on ANY carrier's 8130:

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.

How to determine if you have an ESN or MEID based device.
From the main menu, select Options, then select Status.
ESN devices - On the Status screen you will see ESN on the display
MEID devices – On the Status screen you will see MEID on the display.
NOTE – You cannot install ESN-based software on a MEID device, nor can you install MEID-based software on an ESN device. They are NOT interchangeable.

I've got a very annoying problem.

I just removed & readded a Hotmail account from the myprovider.blackberry.com control panel.

Before I removed it (lesson f'in learned: ain't broke, don't fix it), email was syncing in the sense that when it was read on the phone, it appeared read on the web inbox. Now, after adding it again, after I read it on the phone, nothing happens on the web inbox!

When I added it the first time, it gave me an activation message about live's 90 day password change policy. After removing & readding, I get a message about "I need to go into my email client and choose "Leave messages on server" otherwise my emails may not sync" But I don't even use an email client!

So I tried a few more times of adding and readding, then I decided, Ok, I'll play ball. I installed an email client, and made those settings, readded the email a couple of times, AND THE SAME PROBLEM STILL!

I called my phone provider, they told me its a Hotmail problem. BS! I have another hotmail account on my phone that I never removed, and it syncs up JUST FINE! I have also tried adding other hotmail accounts, and they all have the same problem.

I don't want to call RIM support because you're charged for it.

What can I do? Please help me.

I just swapped pearls from a 8100 (AT&T) to 8130 (Sprint). Using my old 8100, I was able to play MP3 with bluetooth using XPlayer. When I did the swap, I also updated my XPlayer to the newer version (1.7.1). Now, my Sprint phone wouldn't play my MP3s on my bluetooth. It plays it on the phone (both speaker and non-speaker), but when I used bluetooth for my playback audio path, my bluetooth beeps (like it normally would when I'm playing something), but all I hear was soft static with no audio. Can anybody help me identity what's the problem? Bluetooth works with regular phone calls and everything used to work with my 8100. I think it's something to do with my 8130 setting.

Thanks in advance!!!
