Default Can I disable the password prompt? - 10-24-2007, 03:47 PM

Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to disable the password prompt once the blackberry is locked?

I have it set to lock after 5 minutes currently, but I would prefer it if it never locked at all. Is this possible? I've looked under the security settings but the longest option I have available is 5 minutes.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Dustin

Are you on BES? Sounds like IT policy is setting the time-out for you

No way to disable the password after it's locked.
But if you unlock your BB with your password and goto Options > Security Options > General Settings...
Your timeout options should be 1,2,5,10,15,20,30,60 mins... But as Andi said if it has a BES policy on it the Security options might be locked out or limited in what you can change.

All things are possible, except for skiing through a revolving door...

I purchased the blackberry on ebay, and haven't even set up any email/IT settings. Do you know how I can disable any existing IT policies?

when I first received it, I put in the incorrect password 10 times to wipe the handheld, but it looks like the previous IT settings stay after its wiped?

I would like to change the password lock to 60 minutes, but the highest I see is 5 minutes.

Can I change this BES?

I had the same problem. bought it from ebay wrong password 10 times. Download all the new software then call your phone service tech support with your pin and ESN and they will erase the old one for you!

I suffer from the same problem. Password protect comes up every 5 minutes which is the maximum time limit. I looked through security option and no mention of an IT Policy. I am not attached to an enterprise or servers anywhere...This password is driving me nuts...any help would be appreciated...Thanks
