Default T-Mobile USA disable saving images? - 10-07-2004, 07:02 PM

I have a 7100t through T-mobile and when using the browser I cannot save any images. I can save the page to messages which essentially just saves the link. I cannot however save the image itself for later use as a background etc. Customer support claims they do not support this option and I have the feeling this is so the can gouge $1.50 per image/ringtone from people via their "Fun Downloads" area.

Can anyone else confirm this. Am I just being an idiot and not able to figure this out.

PS: I have looked extensively for the "Save Image" option mentioned in several posts.

Well, sorry to say, but I don't think it's a T-Mobile conspiracy.

I just surfed to my personal website, so the image come up, clicked the trackwheel, chose "save image", and successfully saved it. I then went into my Photo Album on the 7100T and saw it listed there, then viewed that picture and saved it as my background.

Works fine for me.

Are you having trouble with a particular site? It may depend on how the images are hosted on that site, I dunno...

Fireproof,

Thanks for the reply. Any chance you could do me a favour and let me browse over to your site so I can try grab an image - perhaps it is with the web sites I am going to.

Secondly when you say you click on the image I am assuming you just press on the wheel. No option keys held down or anything.

Correct - I just clicked the wheel when an image was in the middle of my display. No extra keys or nothing.

I'll send you a PM with my website. ;)

I got the option on my 7100t / TMobile by going to "Select Mode" in the tzones browser, then I was able to highlight (bracket surrounding image) then finally I got a save image option in the shuttle menu.
