Default 7100t vs 7230...Which One is a Better Deal - 06-28-2005, 12:29 AM

Okay, D-Day is almost here, and im gonna buy my BB through t-mobile. But which one should i buy. The guy offered me his last stock of 7230 and Horizontal Holster for $100 flat. Or, should i buy the 7100t for $225 with a $100 rebate. two different style blackberry. I like the 7100 series innovative look and advance ment, but i like the 7230 keyboard layout. what would you buy.

Go for the 7100t, it has more memory compared to the 7230.

If the traditional keyboard layout is your preference ask the rep about the BB 7290 it also offers quad band/32MB/BT/dual step backlit. http://www.tmobile.com/products/over...35&class=phone

I had a 7230 and changed over to the 7100t and am happy. the 7100t has speakerphone, bluetooth, more memory and a better screen. its slimmer and slicker. the downfall would be that the keyboard takes some getting used to - at least it did for me since i was changing from the 7230 keyboard to a 7100t keyboard... but if your new to BB, you won't have to "transistion" like I did.

I have both the 7100t and the 7230. My 7100t has been replaced 3 times by T-Mobile. Only upon threatening to take my business elsewhere, they sent me the 7230 to retain me as a customer.
Besides the well known re-boot problem with the 7100t, I experienced frequent network signal loss with the device not being able to log on to the network even when other devices were showing strong signal. Tier 2 and RIM tech support gave up. IMO, there is an antenna problem with the device and RIM has not fully gone to the mat in testing it fully.
I miss the speakerphone, the bright screen and phone interface but would not trade that for reliability since I am on the road weeks at a time.
