Default Foreign language support for 7100t - 10-09-2004, 02:30 PM

One of my few disappointments with my 7100t thus far is the paucity of language options. My old phone, a Siemens S40, had menus available in something like 17 languages, everything from English to Turkish to Catalan. My BB, however, lets me choose between...British and American English, basically, though I DO like the fact that the dictionary and the menus can be in separate tongues. I would like to keep my menus in German, just to make my BB less likely to be stolen and used. Is there a way to get my 7100t to display its menus in German?

Thanks!

Download the firmware package for the 7100V (Vodafone UK) and install this on your Blackberry 7100T. After installation on your pc, start application loader and choose "German Language Support" from the application list. After a reboot of your 7100T you will be able to change the device to german.

Any ideas how to make the TMobile US BB speak German in SureType when the TMobile is already loaded? Javaloader seems an option, but what files?

Ok, I think I figured out which files to use ... now one question remains - if the Applications get updates, will the Language Support still work?
