The 7100i does not have a microSD media card. It has limited internal memory. No way to load music onto it.

The 81xx, 83xx and 88xx models have the media card.

How about ringtones?

is there a way to upload pictures or ring tones onto my 7100i from my home computer.

i have a nextel i580 and love that i can upload homemade ringtones and pictures. is this possible with a 7100i? if so what do i need? i have the data cable and the decktop manager installed but have no idea how to use the desktop manager.

no you have to do OTA on the 7100i

You can e-mail yourself pictures; just be sure NOT to use all of the internal memory with pictures and ringtones. Messages and texts will start to "delete themselves" when you run out of memory.
