Lightbulb should i upgrade my OS - 06-10-2008, 10:01 AM

I have the Blackberry 7100i and i noticed there is a newer ver out then the one on my phone. Should i upgrade, is there a changelog that tells what was changed between vers? should i attemp the upgrade myself or take it to a service center? the ver on the phone is v4.1.0.136 (platform 2.0.0.44)

Personally, I wouldn't bother.
You're not going to get any new features. If your current OS is working fine for you, then just stick with it.

You might also consider switching carriers and getting a more current model BlackBerry. That 7100i the last of a dying breed of BlackBerry devices.

Well there is a new iden Berry coming out. And he didnt say that he disliked Nextel.

What exactly is your point?

If a new iDen BlackBerry does come out, iDen/Nextel is still a dying breed and I still advise switching carriers.
I didn't say the user HAD to switch, I just said they might want to consider it.
There's also no need to upgrade the OS on a 7100i if their current OS is working just fine.

If they want to stay with Nextel, so be it. Doesn't really matter to me at all.
