Default Blackberry 7100i and dropped calls - 07-16-2008, 07:39 AM

I have a client who is on his third 7100i. The issue that he is having is that phone calls are being dropped and the wireless is getting disabled when the call drops. They are runnning a BES server v. 4.0.3.11. I have 10 other phones on the blackberry server that are not having any of these issues. He insists that it is the Blackberry server. The phone keeps keeps taking itself off of the Nextel data network going from NXTL to NXTl. Nextel seems to not have any ideas as to why this is happening and keeps throwing new phones at him. Any help would be appreciated.

It has nothing to do with the server. The reason the problem is following him phone to phone is because he is keeping the same battery. 95% of the time it is a bad battery!

it is a known issue I am a member of many nextel site4s and they are all complaining about the device. It has zero to do with the battery. I had 90 some odd employees that carried them.

I carried a 7100i and never had the problem with the device. There is no known issue.

This was happening to my 7100i again all day yesterday. I usually chalk it up to Nextel's generally lousy signal.

what ever you say the device is a piece of garbage phone we tried new batterys swapping phones and they all do it. I talked to nine different nextel service centers and three rim reps. They all suggested switching away from the device.

So if you wanna hang on the battery go right ahead.
