Angry 7100G - Dropping calls - 12-22-2005, 10:49 AM

I have been using my new 7100G for about a month now and have had so many dropped calls, I can't count them. I never had this issue with my previous 7280 Blackberry. Both my wife and I use Cingular and have for years without any problems, even with low signal strength. Now, even with 2 or 3 bars of signal strength, I'm dropping call left and right. Being that I use this phone 99% for business, dropping a call with a major customer is a BIG issue especially when it happens 3 or 4 times on the same call. Any ideas boys and girls?

Id assume it was Cingular problem. I had Cingular for a regular phone in South Florida and hated it, so many dropped calls and busy signals. Id check with them, maybe its a problem in your area.

With Nextel, if I have a problem with service, which is very very rare, it affects my BB and my wifes i850.

Hope you get it fixed.

I had the same problem with my 7100g and Cingular in Atlanta until I upgraded my BB's software to 4.0.2.82. I had so many dropped calls going through downtown Atlanta I was ready to throw my BB away. If you're not using 4.0.2.82 try it and see if it will help?

I have been gettting a lot of dropped calls in Central Illinois over the past 2 weeks. I am averaging 8 to 10 dropped calls per day.

Nextel 7520. I thought it was the BB so I did a swap but replacement phone is just as bad. Anyone out there have an idea?

I have Cingular in the Harrisburg PA area, and while I dont get dropped calls, I get weak signals on my 7100g (but full signal on other non BB cell) and the sound quality is worse than I ever heard.

Im thinking of switching to verizon.
