Default Opera Mini on 7130e - 12-23-2005, 06:28 PM

If you weren't aware, Opera has officially released Opera Mini worldwide. You can download the browser by going to mini.opera.com on your BB. You can also go to http://www.opera.com/products/mobile/operamini/ to read about it on your PC.

I have loaded it up but can't seem to get beyond the initial welcome screen. If any of you would like to give it a shot, I would appreciate it if you could post your experiences with it.

Ominx.

I installed it on my 7130e and when I launch it the splash screen comes up for at least 30 seconds or so then a page that says "To start using Opera Mini, your handset needs a GPRS/3G profile". It goes on to describe how to navigate through the browser. From that page the only menu option is "close" which closes the browser.

I have a 7105t and have basically the same problem. It takes about 30 seconds to load up, then just sits on a page where you can't navigate anywhere. The only choice is to close the browser. Seems like it's not ready for prime time yet.

Same here, I think it expects 2 soft buttons and a nav stick or 4way button like a regular ass phone.

LOL. Priceless.

But yea, I have the same problem. Hopefully the next version will allow BB functionality.

That's a great term - unfortunately the "Custom Word List does not accept phrases. Instead I have added "RAP" to my custom list . My BB probably thinks I mean "50 Cent" The're equally offensive!
