Default Maps on my blackberry - 12-24-2005, 06:37 PM

I really would like a map and GPS capability on my 7100.

I have a GPS receiver that has bluetooth output that I connect to my notebook. Does the 7100 have a way to use GPS input or download a map?

Or is it too processor and memory poor?

Seems like RIM and Google could get together and create a powerful offer if every map I google for ends up automatically on my Blackberry... it just seems obvious that the reason I would look at a map is to go there....

If you have a 7130e, your phone has the ability to provide you with long/lat coordinates. Unfortunately, Verizon has disabled that feature. (Check out the 7130e manual from the Blackberry website.) The GPS features are in addition to the 911 feature.

Once Verizon rolls out their new real-time map service beyond their current Motorola phone, I would expect that Verizon will make the mapping feature available on the 7130e as well - for a fee.
