Thumbs up Thanks, Stealth! - 02-17-2006, 08:39 PM

Great "heads up", Stealth! Appeciate the info on Google Local. I downloaded it to my 7100i and it works GREAT! In fact, just trying out the "Directions" function: chose 2 points in NC and it gave me excellent driving directions, plus just clicking on "3", it actually gives you specific mileage to the next Google point on your directions; moved really pretty fast too! Cheap GPS! Amen. Thanks again!

Labonte2006, please provide a litte more info about your BB. Which 7100 are you using, which service do you use, and which OS push are you running. All of these things help people figure out your problem a little easier and quicker.

BTW, I'm on a 7100t using T-Mobile with the 4.0 OS, I had to delete my IPPP E-mail in the service books like other people suggested and then reactivate before Google local would recognize my data service. After I did that it works like a charm, and the sat pictures are just like Google Earth on my desktop.

I'm Using a 7130e (VZW) and I find this program to be spotty at best. I have never been able to lead a map (only satellite) and directions seem to work about 50% of the time.

I don't get error messages, the program just hangs, like it can;t make a connection, even though my internet connection is fine.

Anyone running on the 7130E getting this program to work as advertised?

Default Google Local Mobile works on 7100t with 4.1 - 02-24-2006, 02:53 PM

I'd like to report that Google Local Mobile runs fine on a T-Mobile 7100t (t is for T-Mobile) with the unauthorized 4.1 OS.

-Craig

PS: Before you ask in this thread about 4.1 on a 7100t - please check out the RIM Software forum and the thread sticky'd at the top about upgrading.
