Default 7130e Bluetooth Weak?? - 08-17-2006, 06:42 PM

Hello forum. I have recently switched from Nextel to Sprint. I did have a i870 and now have my 7130e - both bluetooth enabled. When I used my i870 with my factory Ford Mobile-Ease hands free system, I had no problem whatsoever. I could even be 20 ft away from the vehicle and the pairing did not disconnect. My 7130e is a different story. I lose the device pairing sporatically while driving the vehicle. I've re-paired the device three times with the same result. Can it be that the bluetooth signal is weak in my BB? Any thoughts?? Thanks for your time.

Arrow bluetooth = tempermental universally really! - 08-17-2006, 10:37 PM

From my own personal experiences with the wonderful technology exceptionally referred to as Bluetooth lol... The technology itself will be well short of flawless which is of course a given BUT before I ventured into BB land I owned a e815 and the connection would disconnect pretty frequently, and I guess I got used to it / it didn't bother me all that much after a while. So in your situation if just try to " roll with the punches " as best as you can, mean while maybe try to get your handset checked out? Its possible its something with the handset alone. Good luck!

I have noticed that if you turn the encryption off when you go into the device settings on your BB it tends to work a lot better with all devices. Esp. headsets

Just wanted to post an update:

When BB releases an update for the Sprint 7130e, many bluetooth related problems could be fixed.

There was a similar problem with the Nextel 7520 (sorry if model # is incorrect) not working with certain car kits and headsets - a patch was released to fix those problems.

Maybe a month or so when update is released. So, it is very important that you contact Sprint to have your problem recorded so that the update will fix as many problems as possible.
