i just got a 7100i and i cant receive my text messages. on my old phone i had full text message capabilities. any help would be GREATLY appreciated. thanks in advance

Do you have the letters NXTL all in caps?

yes i do....i can send PIN messages out, but i cant receive ANY text messgaes....its aggravating

I think you need to have 'short message service' enabled for your device. I know we had an issue with that an our Nextel devices, but it was affecting MMS messages, not text messages (I could still receive a text page from the Helpdesk....dang it).

juwaack68 is correct, call nextel tech support and be sure its enabled

i have the same problem with my 7100i. i talked to my service provider, and they said that SMS was unavailable for any mike enabled device. does anybody know a way around this?
